3/25/09 MYSTONIC RECORDS Having to wait 4 to 6 weeks for music to be visible on ITunes, and
having to wait over 2 months for music to hit Amazons mp3 site, can be quite
a downer. Us indie artists can't even really get a definitive launch
date for release of our songs because the actual dates are such an unknown.
That is the primary reason for my involvement with the label.
The new website and storefront will be officially open May 1st . It will
host information and links for all artists and will provide immediate
storefront capabilities for them. Now artists can finish a song and in
a matter of hours be selling that mp3 worldwide. The transaction is
handled by PayPal, and the mp3 purchased is immediately available to the
purchaser for download.
The
artists on the label will still have iTunes, Amazon, and all the other major
distribution exposure, but they will now be able to see their music up on
the market right away at the Mystonic Records storefront. This includes not
only digital downloads, but cds as well.
1/1/09 A NEW YEAR BEGINS January 1st marks the beginning of the year I will be really
attacking the music industry. I am rebuilding the home studio, finishing my
first full album of original tracks, and re-focusing my efforts into doing
what I am here on this earth to do.
12/29/08 NOW ON ITUNES / AMAZON
That's right, after much messing about, the first of many ITunes releases
are available now. This first release is the Viva La Vida EP. It
is a 3 track single release with the following-
1. Viva La Vida - (the peter michael electro house remix) .
I did everything you hear, including the vocals. This is my first
remix. It was completed during the first week of the Coldplay release,
but unfortunately released months later.
2. Viva La Vida - (the james aville trance remix)
This remix was made by my Colombian friend, James Avila, of Co-Pilot.
He asked me to do the vocals and was nice enough to let me put the resulting
track on my album. There are a dozen dance versions of the song out
there, and this by far is the best. He is able to bring tremendous
energy to the track.
3. The Connection - (original 1999 mix) A quality
b-side from almost 10 years ago.
My pledge as someone who spent many a valuable dollar buying a CD only to
have one decent track to listen to - I will never release any second best
material.
